Why some helpers have a
placement loan
For some helpers, recruitment and training costs are recovered through a placement loan. While you advance these costs initially, the helper repays them through salary deductions over the first few months.
| MONTH | HELPER'S SALARY | LOAN REPAYMENT | HELPER RECEIVES |
|---|---|---|---|
| Month 1 | $600 | $500 | $100 |
| Month 2 | $600 | $500 | $100 |
| Month 3 | $600 | $500 | $100 |
| Month 4 | $600 | $500 | $100 |
| Month 5 | $600 | $500 | $100 |
| Month 6 | $600 | — | $600 |
Example: $2,500 loan, $600 salary — $500 repaid monthly for 5 months, with $100 received
each month. Full salary from month 6. Actual figures vary.

Everything involved in finding and placing your helper — consultation and matching, personalised recommendations, MOM fees and programmes, pre-employment medical check, logistics coordination, all documentation and admin processing, and post-placement support. There are no additional charges on top of this. The only other costs are compulsory insurance ($432) and the placement loan if applicable, both of which are explained clearly before you commit.
-
Yes. The $1,588 agency and service fee applies regardless of whether you hire a fresh or transfer helper.
-
A deposit of $800 is collected when you confirm your chosen helper, offset against the agency and service fee. The balance is due on deployment day. Insurance is arranged and payable separately once you've selected your plan.
-
The placement loan covers the costs your helper incurred for recruitment and training before coming to Singapore. Because she typically cannot pay these upfront, you advance the amount on her behalf. It is not an additional cost to you — she repays it through monthly deductions from her salary over the first few months of employment. The exact amount and repayment terms are confirmed before you commit and documented in the employment contract.
-
If the match doesn't work out within 6 months, we'll arrange a replacement with the service fee waived. In line with MOM requirements, a 50% service fee refund is also available if you choose not to take a replacement.
